Carrie on her YouTube Channel: ItsWayPastMyBedTime

Carrie Hope Fletcher has some good advice about why it’s so difficult sometimes to sit down and have a conversation with an adult about something serious. Why is that??? Like, when you’re at the doctors and they ask you about taking drugs or smoking. And you tell them, honestly, that you don’t do them but they totally look at you suspiciously as if they know you know that’s not true – even if it is!!

This is because (as every adult will also confess to!) there can be a big disconnect between adults and teenagers because it’s impossible to remember what being a teenager is like and it’s always gonna be different for every teenager, right? This includes our parents – even though they absolutely DO love you and you can trust them – it doesn’t mean it’s always gonna be easy to talk to them. But there are places you can go: TalkToFrank, ChildLine and Brook have amazing people who always have time to listen if you’re feeling smoking pressure or have questions about your first time having sex. Also… people like Carrie! She is your honorary big sister – someone who is there to reach out to and who will listen to you. Her words, honestly – watch the video!

It’s also a great shout to read the comments below our videos, and on her channel, because there’s loads of people who will listen or may be going through similar things. So reach out and help each other!
