Our bodies are a confusing thing no matter if you’re boy or girl shaped! Find out what’s going on during puberty.

We all know that too much sugar is bad for us, right? We know that it rots our teeth – we’ve all heard about the penny being cleaned in a glass of coke – and not eating loads of chocolate and sweets or drinking too many fizzy drinks is bound to be a good thing BUT have you ever actually looked at some specifics? Fortunately for us all Jimmy, from the 4:01 Show, has donned a fabulous Willy Wonka jacket and done some research.

Scientists recommend that we have no more than 30g of sugar a day – the equivalent of seven sugar cubes – which sounds like a pretty big limit, right? Can you seriously imagine eating seven sugar cubes in a day? Well (as you might have guessed, because why would we mention it otherwise…) there’s actually way more sugar in most products than you’d think. Jimmy looks at fizzy drinks in this video, and it’s kinda sorta worrying how much sugar there is in them… Sports drinks, full sugar fizzy drinks and energy drinks all contain a lot of sugar – one of those three has 14 cubes!!

So be careful of your sugar intake. As well as losing your teeth, sugar can also cause internal fat build-ups that are really bad for you – and way less easy to spot. Cutting down on sugar will make you feel way more healthy too – and feeling healthy is a great way to start feeling more positive in general, especially if you feel any kind of body insecurity. Feeling healthy helps you to feel happy, which then makes you look healthy and happy too! Everyone’s a winner.
