1. Stay connected, chat to mates
Chatting to our family and friends makes us feel good, and in lockdown we’re all using social media for social good, so maybe just call someone when you’re feeling a bit lonely, we all are sometimes.
2. Talk about your worries, and be there for your mates
It’s normal to feel a bit worried, scared or helpless about the current situation and it is OK to share your worries with others you trust and it might even help them too.
Helping someone else can make you feel good as well as them. For example, say they start acting a bit differently on social, why not ask for a chat.
Luke chats about how, even knowing how to handle those worries can help, and how to start doing that.
3. Do things you enjoy
If we are feeling worried, anxious or low, we might stop doing things we usually enjoy. If you cannot do the things you normally enjoy because you are staying at home, check out some of the things from The Bytesquad
4. Maybe keep a watch out on your social media usage
Sometimes its good to limit our social media use, and its even harder in lockdown.
Model, presenter and all round amazing person, Jade talks about some of things she does to protect her mental health on social media.
5. Look after your body
Try to look after your sleep, eat healthy, well-balanced meals, drink enough water and exercise regularly.
You could go for a walk, run or bike ride. But keep a safe 2-metre distance from others. Or there are loads of 10-minute home workouts – how about doing it together with a mate on chat.
Malik talks how getting active helps his mental health. And even though, we can’t go out yet and exercise as much as we would like (this was obviously filmed before lockdown) there are still some useful tips in his film. Like setting goals are a really good idea, and can help us with our new routines in lockdown.
