What is puberty?!

Wow! Everything you needed to know about puberty but were (understandably) too scared to ask in just seven minutes! Trust Tomska to hurtle through this hugely important and hugely daunting stage of life in a random but really informative video that covers three important areas: Changes to your body, emotions and SEX. There’s nothing left to the imagination here!

So – the first thing to say is, if you’ve started puberty or you reckon your time will soon be here… Good luck. We’ve literally all been there, and you’re gonna make it, we promise. Hair growth, genital growth, periods and changes to your body shape are heading your way and can lead to body insecurities – so watch the video for more information on exactly what is happening. It’s also worth mentioning that hormones will begin flowing through your body and this makes you feel very emotional. Like, WHY GOD WHY? WHY IS THE BUS LATE? LIFE IS SO BAD kind of emotional. But keep cool, emotions are normal. Everyone has them – though some people will start reacting badly to them and become mean, which could lead to bullying at school. These people aren’t cool, so ignore them and don’t waste your time. Focus on you!

Finally, sex is gonna start being a ‘thing’ that everyone’s thinking about and your body is saying “do it do it do it do it do it do it” but honestly, you’ve gotta wait till you’re ready. You might not know who you’re into – girls, boys, both, neither – and it can take time to figure that out. Which is totally fine! Tomska covers it all – but the key is not to feel any pressure to have sex because it’s all about when you are ready (this applies to everyone, so you have to make sure your partner is ready too!).
