Meet Team Rise Above

Hey! We’re Lily and Mikal and we’re behind the scenes, writing and creating great content for Rise Above! We have loads of ideas to inspire and share with you.

Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves

Hi! My name is Lily. I love to read and write: I have my own blog. I have an unhealthy obsession with anything Marvel, although my favourite superhero is Batgirl – she’s also my feminist hero. (Did I mention I’m a feminist?) I listen to any music really, especially Belle and Sebastian, although I do have a soft spot for cheesy 80s pop!

Hey, I’m Mikal. I am 17 years old and studying for my A-levels at the moment. When I’m not at school, I enjoy a number of sports such as swimming and cycling. I love reading, with interests in poetry as well as regular fiction novels. This love for poetry led me to become a big fan of hip hop music, with rappers such as Kanye West and Nas up there with my favourites.
