Can puberty affect your head as well as your body?
Ah puberty. That time where your body changes a lot and so does your mind. How much does puberty affect your head though, and does it happen to everyone the same? Jimmy from the 4:01 Show paid a visit to Dave from BoyinaBand and professional brain expert (it’s a job!) Dr Lee Hudson to find out.
Dave from Boyinaband remembers how confusing he found puberty, because he was a late developer and unfortunately he was bullied at school. He remembers feeling frustrated and confused because of the changes happening to him – but was he alone? No! And was this a normal reaction to puberty? Yes! To delve even deeper into the subject, Jimmy asked Dr Lee Hudson to explain exactly what goes on in our brains, and it’s super interesting. Different areas of the brain grow at different stages of adolescence (when our brains begin to mature) and puberty (when our bodies reach sexual maturity). You’ll have to watch the video to get the specifics, but it’s crazy how Dr Hudson is able to explain these patterns that feel so intense and personal when we’re going through them. They literally happen to everyone!
So give the video a watch a take a breather, because there’s an actual scientific explanation for how you’re feeling. And you can’t argue with a brain expert, can you?
