The truth behind the perfect body
by Lily
Body image is something that affects pretty much all of us. Although it might not seem like it, worrying about how you look can affect even the most glamourous pop star or actor. Like, Rihanna and Britney Spears have both been pictured with spots, and Miley Cyrus was teased on twitter when she dared to change her hair.
There’s a reason why teenagers are more worried about body image than grown-ups: our bodies are going through some pretty weird changes. All those spots, the greasy hair and the gangly, awkward limbs which are clearly only there to trip you up, can all be part of the changes you go through during puberty.
But let me tell you a secret. Everyone is like this as a teenager. Everyone. At the time of writing this, I have four spots (big ones too) I tripped over my feet three times today, and I’m pretty much convinced that my parents adopted me from another planet!
But actually everyone is probably feeling the same way – and I can guarantee you that if you are at school, then a lot more people feel like that than you think. Confidence is important. Look at Miley – when faced with Twitter Trolls, what mattered most was that she felt good about herself. And her hair!
